Scallop Shell Metal Serving Dish - Matte Black
The shape of nature is preserved in this unique piece, perfect for presenting any culinary delight. The bowl is cast in aluminum using the lost wax method and finished with a black anodized coating. Its heft and texture have many mistaking it for ceramic.
Originally molded from a real scallop shell, with some clay sculpting to complete the design.
Care Instructions
Matte Black aluminum should be hand washed with dish soap and towel or air dried only. Any Scotchbite pad or nylon brush is fine if needed. Dishwasher use should be avoided.
Artifaqt Wood Balm can add a protective coating to our black aluminum serveware as well as add luster and help to release food. Preheat the platter in the oven at about 120°F and apply a thin coat of our balm while hot. Then wipe off the balm with a lint-free cloth while still warm. Do not microwave. A quick broil is fine.
