Charred Ash Taper Holder

The beauty of the black finish comes from hand burning the wood with flame, a process called shou-sugi-ban.  There is more depth and richness than you would ever see with dye or stain. The technique originated in Japan to insect and fire proof wood siding, we’re borrowing it purely for beauty. Originally, handcrafted in American Ash.

Due to the nature of wood, each piece has unique grain. Finished with a beeswax / oil blend.

A metal inset sits in each holder for added safety and for a mix of material. 

Designed for a standard 7/8" taper candle.
